Are cell phones really beneficial?
Today, everyone from young children to old grandmothers has a cell phone. The reasons for this are clear. When one looks at the possibilities offered by cell phones, it is easy to understand why they have proliferated so rapidly. And it is clear that they will continue to grow in popularity as more and more features are added. But at what price? Because most people don\’t realize that there is more than just a plus side. Certainly, there is no denying that the ability to call anytime you need help or, conversely, to contact a loved one when you are worried (for example, if your child is out of town) is definitely a big deal.
Being able to call for help in this way when, for example, an accident happens to you has already saved many lives. No need to wait for someone to pass by and expect that person to run to the nearest phone booth. This is why public phone booths have virtually disappeared, only to be placed at regular intervals along motorways and in tunnels. In short, everyone has a cell phone, so public phones are seen as unnecessary. However, one cannot hide the fact that behind all this goodness lies a disadvantage of which we are not very aware.
First of all, constant contact means that anyone can call you at any time. Therefore, there is no “me time” where one can be sure that no one will disturb him or her. This, of course, takes a toll on one\’s psyche.Furthermore, our access to the Internet and many other things means that we are constantly occupying our brains. For example, while waiting for the bus, we have stopped just sitting around thinking. Instead, we browse social networks, for example. Last but not least, there is the fact that modern cell phones, especially when they are communicating data, basically function as tracking systems. Many people disagree with that as well.
