The Age of Modern Technology

Remember the days when everyone had a push-button cell phone and no one stopped to think about it? Unfortunately, those days are long gone. Why? Because now is a completely different time. We didn\’t know what else to call it. But I don\’t think I\’ll ever meet anyone who doesn\’t have one. Come to think of it, I know only one person who still has a push phone. Yes, only one. My grandma is someone who has no understanding of modern technology and can\’t imagine how to operate a touch-tone phone.

It is much easier and better for her to operate a push button. She\’s the kind of person who doesn\’t search the Internet or spend a lot of time on it. It reminds me of when I had a push button phone. I used the same one all through elementary school and eighth grade. Everyone had touch tones by then and I was the only one with a button phone. I had the option to buy or get a touch screen, but in the end I didn\’t really want one. I was different from my classmates, and we didn\’t get along at all, virtually.

They had very different interests than I did, and overall I felt like I did not fit in with their group. Looking back, I thought the same way. That is to say, at their age my thinking was quite different and my mind was more organized than theirs. What they were saying was bullshit to me. So I always sat alone during recess and had my push-button phone with me, downloading some of my favorite music. I\’m more of a loner, but I don\’t mind and that makes me happy.
