To Mount Radosht
The most frequent and very interesting route is the one from Pusteven. Probably because you can get here by cable car. Depending on when you arrive here will determine how long you have to wait on the cable car. At the top is a beautiful cottage, or rather hotel, by the world-famous architect Djurkovic. Now that I have already described the journey from here, let\’s take a look at another journey. This one begins in a town called Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. If you follow the blue signs, you will pass through a really beautiful corner. The distance is only 6 km, but there is quite a bit of elevation gain, so it may not be recommended for the inexperienced or physically weak.
However, we start at the red trail marker. Or on the bridge over the Bechuva River. We will also pass by a campground with very interesting lodging rates, but the location will not be ideal. A short distance past the main road, we turn right and walk to the bottom of Peace Cottage. Here we leave the asphalt road and follow the signs to the left. Climb to the next point, Chernar Hora.
You can rest here, but it is more comfortable to go a little further. Again, leave the red marker and catch the blue marker ahead. This will take you to your destination. All that remains is to rest at Velker Polana. Do not go to the left, it is forbidden there. It is only one kilometer from here to the goal. But you can turn right. There is a cave there called Volarka. Don\’t expect what the name of the cave implies. This is just a hole, nothing more. Why it is called a cave, I have never understood nor looked for it. Well, you are already at the top and there you can see other interesting things. For example, the Cyril and Methodius Chapel, the tallest religious structure in our country.
So, are you going on a trip?
